[Album] Amanda Leigh - Mandy Moore

Name:
Amanda Leigh
Performer: Mandy Moore

Ideas

In October 2008, Moore posted on her website blog live videos of three new songs she's been working on, along with singer-songwritter, pianist and guitarist Mike Viola. It was at first expected to a be a duo album between the two, but then in January 2009, it was revealed it would be a solo album with a collaboration with him, slated for release in May 2009.

Recording sessions for the album took place around December 2008 in Boston, Massachusetts. A video of the experience was posted on the website for Gain, the laundry soap. It can be viewed in their 'First Sniff' section of their website which Mandy has used as a promotional platform for the release of the album.

It was announced in February 2009 that the new album was to be released in May 2009, and named Amanda Leigh on a new label called Storefront Recordings. This new label was founded by Moore's long time manager John Leshay. Confirmed tracks for the album are "Everblue", "Nothing/Everything", "Love To Love Me Back", "I Could Break Your Heart Any Day of the Week", and "Song About Home". Moore worked with Lori McKenna on the album once again.

The album's music channels variously channels Todd Rundgren, Joni Mitchell, and Paul McCartney. According to Moore, "The music is all a reflection of me now, not somebody else's choices."

For the promotion of the album, Moore will be performing an exclusive concert for the winning town of the "First Sniff" competition on Gain's official site. The town that has the most stories placed on the website wins the competition and gets the concert hosted there.

Mandy visited many talk shows including Live The Ellen Degeneres Show & The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. On both shows she performed her new single "I Could Break Your Heart Any Day of the Week" to help promote the album. On May 26, 2009, she performed her new songs on Amoeba Music Hollywood together with Mike Viola, the day her new album set to be released under her new label Stonefront Records.

On March 17 2009, her first single for the record "I Could Break Your Heart Any Day of the Week" was released for digital download on iTunes. This also was the date of the pre-ordering for the album.

[Album] In A Perfect World... - Keri Hilson

Image

Name: In A Perfect World...
Performer: Keri Hilson

Ideas

In a Perfect World... is the debut album by American singer-songwriter Keri Hilson.[3] The album was originally slated for release in 2007 but was pushed back multiple times into 2009, as Hilson stated herself, mainly due to budget cuts at her record label.[1][4] After numerous delays the album will be released on March 24, 2009.

Background

Hilson explained the title as the following,
It’s my way of saying nothing in the world is perfect and no person in it is, either. None of us is exempt from certain hardships and heartbreaks. It was really important for me to write songs that women can relate to from real situations. I didn’t want to do an album that painted myself as perfect because no matter how things look, no one is.

The album includes production by Timbaland, Polow Da Don, Danja, The Runawayz, Johnkenum "Sir John" Spivery & Cory Bold with others yet to be confirmed. Writing contributions have been provided by Jim Beanz, Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo and The Clutch. The album also contains guest appearances from Akon, Lil Wayne, Timbaland, Keyshia Cole, Trina, Kanye West, and Ne-Yo.

[Album] This Is The One - Utada

Image

Name:
This Is The One
Performer: Utada

Ideas

This Is the One is the upcoming album by Japanese-American pop singer-songwriter Utada. This will be Utada's third English language album and her eighth studio album overall. The album was originally set to be released in Japan on March 4, 2009; however, the album was pushed back to March 14, 2009. In the United States, the album will be released on March 24, 2009 digitally, with the physical release slated to be May 12, 2009.
Contents

Background

On October 23, 2007, Utada wrote a message on her Japanese blog stating that she was writing and recording demos for her next English album while simultaneously completing her fifth Japanese studio album. During her interview with Ningin on February 3, 2009, Utada states that she wanted to make a mainstream album, and the result was a more R&B influenced album because that's what currently is mainstream. In an interview with Kiwibox on February 20, 2009, Utada explains that the title of the album came about because she was going for a more mainstream sound for this record, and that it would be the "breakout" album.

[Review] Confessions of A Shopaholic Soundtrack

Ideas

Pop coming back is so clear with more and more signs, and now, a full of pop hits album, that is what I am talking right now, brilliant! The soundtrack features some new chick in the industry, includes Jordyn Taylor who still is unsigned with any labels, Jessica James who will debut with her 1st single in March09, Adrienne Bailon, one of The Cheetah Girls, wants to step out of the shadow. All of them delivers, delivers in their most energetic of young. Beside that, the soundtrack also contains some of the biggest stars: The Pussycat Dolls, Natasha Bedingfield, Lady Gaga, Rihanna; and some well-known: Kat Deluna, Shontelle, Trey Songz.

This masterpiece full of pop-dance-funky music which takes fashion as the main theme (Accesory, Fashion, Blue Jeans, Big Spender) and plus two incredible ballad-midtempo tracks: Again, Takes Time To Love. As we expected, this will be huge and can be comparable with Step Up soundtracks, HSM soundtracks.

[Review] Scream - Chris Cornell

Scream - Chris Cornell

After his previous album "Carry On" (2007), Chris backs with a contact with Timbaland by the suggestion of former producer Rick Rubin just for some remixes. However, the collaboration evolved into the duo writing and recording an entire album in just six weeks with "much more R&B-oriented direction, with busy drum machine beats, buffed-up chorus vocals and string samples filling the nooks and crannies"- Billboard.

Doing this album is like playing a poker game for Chris. One for all, he will get his mark or lose everything, the future will decide with his abandonment his own "alternative-rock" fans. The album again brings some talented beats from Timbaland, but (there are always "but"), his talent must be put on the right situation for the full effects. "His talent" in this album blows away Chris's talent - his rock-god voice. After 5 (yes, FIVE) buzz/promo singles, what he got is one star, from his true fans, five stars, from his "wider audiences" - his plan.

In my opinions, who just listen to him the first time (Scream, definitely), this album is really attractive with One Republic style. My favourite songs are: Climbing Up The Walls, Sweet Revenge and the upcoming single - Part Of Me. They appear with flawless chorus accompanied with his unique voice, and the produce part will be scandalous part from all over.
